Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — email, name, optional avatar.
• Financial data — bank, M-Pesa, and card statements you upload; the transactions, accounts, budgets, and categories derived from them.
• Usage data — anonymous analytics about which features you use, to improve the product.

How we use it

• To run Ledgers — parse your statements, classify transactions, render reports.
• To send you essential account emails (sign-up confirmation, security alerts).
• To improve the product. We never sell or rent your data.

Statement uploads

When you upload a statement, the file is sent to our AI parsing partner (Google Gemini) for extraction. The file itself is not stored after parsing — only the parsed rows (date, amount, description) are saved to your account.

Data residency

Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. We do not transfer your financial records to third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights

• Access — see your data from the dashboard at any time.
• Correction — edit any transaction, budget, or account directly in the app.
• Deletion — delete your account; data is purged within 30 days.
• Export — request a full export by emailing us.
